The Los Angeles Unified School District Board of Education announced on Monday, Aug. 30, the start of a community outreach effort to gather input and public opinions about the search for a new superintendent to replace the retired Austin Beutner.

The outreach effort will target students, parents, school staff and residents, making use of a 20-question survey available in nine languages and formats, along with a series of focus groups and both virtual and physical “listening sessions” held in each of the board’s seven districts.
