LAUSD and the teachers union have struck a tentative deal on safety protocols and staffing for the 2021-22 academic year, which will see campuses reopen for full in-person learning five days week for the first time since the coronavirus began last year.
United Teachers Los Angeles, the bargaining unit for LAUSD faculty, initially announced the proposed agreement on Thursday evening, June 10. Superintendent Austin Beutner confirmed the deal in a letter to Los Angeles Unified School District employees later in the day.
The union’s more than 30,000 members will have to ratify the agreement, which would begin June 23, and will likely need Board of Education approval as well. Click here to read more: https://www.dailynews.com/2021/06/10/teachers-union-says-it-has-deal-with-lausd-over-covid-19-protocols-for-2021-22-
