On Nov. 8 voters have compelling choices for LAUSD board members in districts 2 and 6

Residents in the East San Fernando Valley and on L.A.’s Eastside will head to the polls on November 8 to choose between four candidates seeking two seats, District 2 and District 6, on the powerful Los Angeles Unified School District board.

District 2:  Brenes vs. Rivas (Downtown L.A., East Hollywood, Boyle Heights, El Sereno and environs)

María Brenes, executive director of InnerCity Struggles, is a housing rights and education advocate with two children in LAUSD. She has worked on the “A-G Life Prep” resolution that ensures LAUSD students have access to college-preparatory courses, and successfully advocated for new schools in her area.
