AALA/Teamsters Members Ratify Contracts!

Sisters and Brothers—

Together, as members of AALA/Teamsters Local 2010, we’ve spoken, and we’ve overwhelmingly said YES. Our historic new contracts have been ratified.  The Certificated contract was ratified with 97% of the vote, with 72% of certificated AALA/Teamsters casting their vote!  The Classified contract was ratified with 92% of the vote, with 68% of AALA/Teamsters classified managers casting their vote!

By standing together in our Union,  we achieved an unprecedented victory. We won a contract that guarantees 12.15% compounded raises for all AALA/Teamsters workers – raises far greater than the District initially proposed – and important new language that will significantly improve our quality of life at work!

Even beyond the improvements to our pay and conditions within our contract, by fighting for this contract and standing in solidarity with our fellow Unions, we have demonstrated a power and unity the District has never seen before from school administrators. Backed by the power of 26,000 workers in Teamsters Local 2010 and 1.3 million of our fellow Teamsters across North America, we have built the strength to bargain, to fight, and to win!

No longer will the District dictate terms to us —from now on they will meet us at the negotiating table with respect, hear our concerns and demands, and bargain in good faith for fair contracts.

Negotiations will reopen in January for our third-year salary increase and we will be sitting down to the bargaining table with more strength than we’ve ever had. That is thanks to the energy, commitment, and solidarity that we brought to this fight.

Thank you for your courage and determination, and congratulations for winning the strong contract we’ve always deserved.  Let’s keep standing together in our Union to build on our successes, enforce our new contract and win even greater victories in the future!
